Minister Väyrynen to make an export promotion trip to Petrozavodsk and Serdobol

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen will make an export promotion trip to Petrozavodsk and Serdobol on 7-8 September. The Minister will travel with more than 20 representatives of businesses, provinces and municipalities.

The purpose of the trip is to promote opportunities for cooperation between Finnish enterprises and other actors in the Republic of Karelia. The business delegation and the agenda represent a wide variety of business sectors: forestry, energy and the environment, information and communication technology, electronics industry, mechanical engineering industry, extractive industry, infrastructure, logistics, construction, and service industry.

During the trip, Minister Väyrynen will meet with the new Head of the Republic of Karelia, Andrey Nelidov and other leaders of the Republic of Karelia and Serbodol. The Minister will also visit local enterprises and the technology park of the Petrozavodsk State University. Moreover, the Minister will be presented the new premises of the Petrozavodsk branch office of the St. Petersburg Consulate General introduced early this year.

The export promotion trip to Karelia was postponed in April because of the ash cloud.
