Minister Väyrynen to make an export promotion trip to Kazakhstan

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen will visit Kazakhstan on 3–5 March. The trip includes visits to the capital, Astana, and the country's economic centre, Almaty. The Minister will travel with an influential business delegation of more than 50 representatives.
The purpose of the trip is to enhance the operational environment for Finnish businesses in Kazakhstan and promote networking with the local authorities and companies.
The trip will be hosted by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan. During his visit, Väyrynen will also meet with other important ministers and the speakers of both Chambers of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, as well as the Mayor of the capital city. The schedule will include Finnish-Kazakh business seminars in Astana and Almaty.
Minister Väyrynen will officially open the Embassy of Finland in Astana during the trip. The Embassy has operated since October 2009.
