Minister Väyrynen to make an export promotion trip to Brazil

Paavo Väyrynen, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, will visit Brazil on 9–12 November. A delegation of 20 business representatives will accompany the Minister on the trip. The purpose of the export promotion trip is especially to present Finnish marine technology and offshore expertise, meteorological know-how and environment-friendly technology in Brazil.
The Minister and the accompanying business delegation will visit São Paulo, Brasília and Rio de Janeiro. A seminar on Finnish offshore and marine technology will be held in São Paulo; it will present what Finnish industry has to offer as well as significant Brazilian projects in the sector.
During his visit the Minister will meet the actors central to major future investments in Brazil, such as the industrial federation FIESP in São Paulo as well as the Brazilian state oil producer Petrobras and the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) in Rio de Janeiro.
In Brasília, the Minister’s intention is to have talks with members of the Government, including the Minister of Mines and Energy and the Minister of Strategic Affairs.
