Minister Väyrynen to attend a meeting of Nordic Ministers for Foreign Trade

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen will attend the annual meeting of Nordic Ministers for Foreign Trade on 28 October in Stockholm.

Ministers will discuss impacts of the financial crisis and anti-protectionist actions, current situation of the WTO trade negotiations, different sectors of the EU internal market, implications of the climate change conference in Copenhagen for trade and development, and the current phase of Iceland's application for EU membership. Minister Väyrynen will also hold a briefing on the progress of his initiative for transatlantic partnership for sustainable development between the European Union and the United States.

The meeting will be held in liaison with the 61st session of the Nordic Council.
