Minister Väyrynen to undergo shoulder surgery

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen will have arthroscopy of the left shoulder on Friday, 1 October. The minister injured his shoulder last winter when shovelling snow.

Owing to the procedure, the minister’s agenda for this weekend, at least, must be cancelled altogether. The length of the minister’s sick leave and the restrictions on his programme for the coming weeks are not known yet.
