Press release 111/2016
9.6.2016

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Lenita Toivakka will lead a business delegation on a Team Finland visit to Poland on 13–15 June. The delegation will represent agricultural engineering, cleantech, and health and care sector businesses.

Finnish companies' business contacts and projects in Poland will be promoted in high-level meetings and networking events organised during the visit. The Minister and her delegation will meet, among others, the Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Minister of the Environment as well as local government management in Krakow and Warsaw.

The Polish economy has shown a steady growth and the trend is expected to continue at a rate of about 3.5 per cent in the near future.  The Finnish innovation system interests Polish decision-makers, and cooperation has been active during the new Government.

"Poland is currently Finland's most important trading partner in Eastern and Central Europe. One of the Polish Government's main objectives is to support innovations. The more than EUR 80 billion allocated to the country for 2014–2020 from the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESI Funds) offer plenty of opportunities for creating new trade relations and for deepening the existing ones," Minister Toivakka notes.

The visit is organised together with Finpro, which is part of Team Finland.
