Minister Stubb meets WTO Director General Lamy and President of the Swiss Confederation Calmy-Rey in Geneva

On 7 November, Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb will travel to Geneva, where he will meet Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Pascal Lamy and Foreign Minister of Switzerland Micheline Calmy-Rey, who is also acting as the President of the Swiss Confederation this year.

With WTO Director General Lamy Minister Stubb will discuss, for example, the Russian WTO accession, Doha Round of negotiations, the development of world trade, the future of multilateral trade system, and the WTO Ministerial Conference to be held in December.

The topics of discussions with Foreign Minister Calmy-Rey include current EU affairs and the European debt crisis, the World Trade Organisation and the Russian accession negotiations in particular, and relations between Switzerland and the EU.
