Latvian Foreign Minister Girts Valdis Kristovskis visits Finland

Foreign Minister Girts Valdis Kristovskis of Latvia is visiting Helsinki on 19–20 January at the invitation of Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb. This is the first visit to Finland made by Foreign Minister Kristovskis, who assumed his current post in November 2010. He will have talks on topical bilateral issues, regional issues and international affairs with Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb. One important topic of discussion is recent events in Belarus.
During his visit, Foreign Minister Kristovskis will also meet with President of the Republic Tarja Halonen and MP Pertti Salolainen, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Finnish Parliament. In addition to his meetings, Kristovskis will visit Matka 2011, the Nordic Travel Fair.
