Minister of Foreign Affairs Lawrence Cannon of Canada to visit Finland

Canadian Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon will visit Finland on Friday, 17 September at the invitation of Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb. The visitor’s agenda includes meetings with Foreign Minister Stubb and Prime Minister Mari Kiviniemi. Foreign Minister Cannon will also go to the Pohjolan Voima bioenergy plant in Kerava, to learn about the plant’s operations.

The visit to Finland is one element of a week-long trip, during which time Foreign Minister Cannon has met his colleagues in Oslo and Moscow.

Aside from bilateral affairs between Finland and Canada, the two Foreign Ministers will discuss, among other topics, Arctic issues, Russia, Afghanistan and the situation in the Middle East.
