Icelandic Foreign Minister Sveinsson visits Finland

Island's Minister for Foreign Affairs Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson will visit Helsinki from 10 to 11 June 2015. The discussions with Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini will deal with the relations between Finland and Iceland, the situation in Russia and Ukraine as well as developments in the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Other issues on the agenda of discussions will be UN matters, Arctic questions and cooperation between the Nordic countries' dipolomatic missions,  Foreign Minister Sveinsson will also meet Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Lenita Toivakka. They will discuss trade policy cooperation between Finland and Iceland as well as export promotion and topical development policy issues.

Sveinsson will also pay a visit to Parliament, where he will meet, among others, Foreign Affairs Committee chair Antti Kaikkonen.
