Press Release 241/2009
1 September 2009
On Tuesday, 1 September, the President of the Republic and the Cabinet Committee on Foreign and Security Policy continued the discussion on the Government’s human rights policy report. The report aims to intensify the implementation of Finland’s international human rights policy. In the near future, Finland will pay particular attention to the rights of the population groups that face a greater risk of discrimination than others: women, children, persons with disabilities, sexual minorities and indigenous peoples. In this report the Government will present, for the first time, an overview also on Finland’s own human rights situation.
The report will be discussed by the Government in a session on 3 September.
