Brazilian Foreign Minister Patriota to visit Finland

Brazilian Foreign Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota will arrive in Finland on official visit on Sunday 25 August. The visit will be hosted by Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the political and economic relations between Finland and Brazil and to discuss topical international issues.
Over dinner, to be held on Sunday, in addition to Minister Tuomioja, Minister Patriota will meet Minister for International Development Heidi Hautala and leadership of the Department for the Americas and Asia.
On Monday, the visit will continue with a meeting with Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb, after which Minister Patriota will attend the Annual Meeting of Finnish Heads of Mission as the keynote speaker.
The bilateral talks between Minister Patriota and Minister Tuomioja will take place over working lunch. The Ministers will share views of the integration of Latin America and the development of the European Union, and discuss topical foreign and security policy and economic issues of interest to both countries.
Minister Patriota will visit President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö at Mäntyniemi. In addition, Minister Patriota will meet Minister of Education Krista Kiuru.
