Embassy of Finland in Kuala Lumpur is looking for an Assistant to join the Political and Trade Team
The Embassy of Finland in Kuala Lumpur is looking for an Assistant for a fixed one-year term, 1 June 2025 – 31 May 2026.
The duties include:
- Assisting in trade promotion activities, including preparation of events and visits, information gathering and communications
- Following Malaysian political and economic developments and media, compiling a daily press review
- Acting as assistant to the Deputy Head of Mission and Senior Trade Adviser, substituting for the Ambassador’s assistant
- Maintaining Embassy’s contact network, liaising with relevant contacts
- Managing Embassy’s reception, receiving phone calls and guests
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of Mission
Expected qualifications:
- Fluent in English and in Bahasa Melayu (written and spoken), other language skills are considered an asset
- Previous work experience in similar tasks. Previous experience in working for an Embassy or High Commission is considered an asset.
- Relevant educational qualifications, undergraduate diploma or similar
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, good IT-skills
- Motivated, trustworthy and flexible team player with high work ethic and ability to take initiative
Terms of employment will follow Malaysian law and practices. Gross monthly salary for the position is MYR 4,640. Medical insurance, EPF and Socso is offered. The contract is a fixed-term one-year contract, which includes a probation period of 3 months. Working time is 40 hours/week.
