Changes in consular services from 1 October 2021: Consular services of the Embassy of Finland in Yangon will be provided in Bangkok
In accordance with Decree 799/2021 of the President of the Republic, consular services at the Embassy of Finland in Yangon will be provided in the future at the Embassy of Finland in Bangkok. The Decree enters into force on 1 October 2021.

Travel recommendations to be updated for individual countries
In future, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will update its travel advice for each country individually. In our advice, we will continue to take into account the recommendations with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic, issued by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, and the general security situation in the country in question.

Finland's pledges and commitments for the candidacy to the UN Human Rights Council
Finland is proud to present its candidacy to a seat on the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2022–2024 term. Previously, Finland served as a member of the Human Rights Council for a period of one year starting in 2006, when the Council was newly established.

Changes to travel recommendations: exercise special caution when travelling to the EU and the Schengen area
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs recommends exercising special caution when travelling to the EU and Schengen area The Ministry also recommends avoiding unnecessary travel to countries outside the EU and Schengen area, except for countries for which the restrictions on entry have been lifted.
