Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari met Turkish Minister of Trade Mehmet Muş

The Ministers met in Helsinki on 12 January.

The bilateral discussions focused on trade relations between the countries, cooperation in decarbonisation, green transition and digitalisation, development of global value chains and logistics, measures to promote sustainability, and the reform of the WTO. 

The discussions were held in a positive spirit and it was noted that the volume of trade between the two countries exceeded EUR 2 billion for the first time in 2022. The goal is to increase the volume of trade to EUR 5 billion in the near future. 

Minister of Trade Muş was accompanied by a large business delegation. A Finland-Türkiye Business Roundtable was organised during the visit. It was noted that the trade between the countries offers plenty of opportunities for both Finnish and Turkish companies. 

During his visit, Minister Muş also met Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä and Minister of Transport and Communications Timo Harakka.
