Finland to help with transportation of Lebanon evacuees from Cyprus

In response to the appeal from Cyprus, the Finnish Government has decided today 21 July that Finland is ready to assist in the transportation of Lebanon evacuees. They will be transported from Cyprus by aircraft to international airports to be specified later.

Minister of the Interior, Kari Rajamäki has decided that the costs amounting to a maximum of 200 000 euros arising from the transportation will be covered by the special expenditure of the rescue services.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs will take the decision on starting the transportation and the necessary arrangements.
