Travel recommendations to be updated for individual countries
In future, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will update its travel advice for each country individually. In our advice, we will continue to take into account the recommendations with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic, issued by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, and the general security situation in the country in question.

CSO Call for proposals: Prevention and awareness raising on Gender Based Violence (GBV)
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA) announces a Call for Proposals for prevention and awareness raising on Gender Based Violence (GBV). The MFA aims at supporting a national or international Civil Society Organisation (CSO)/a consortium of CSOs based in Kenya to work in three selected counties (Bungoma, Kilifi, Samburu), which will complement the Finland-Kenya bilateral programme on Strengthening Prevention and Response to GBV in Kenya. The expected duration of the selected CSO project is maximum 4 years (2022-2025). The Call for Proposals is open from 13 September 2021 to 15 October 2021.

Finland's pledges and commitments for the candidacy to the UN Human Rights Council
Finland is proud to present its candidacy to a seat on the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2022–2024 term. Previously, Finland served as a member of the Human Rights Council for a period of one year starting in 2006, when the Council was newly established.

Changes to travel recommendations: exercise special caution when travelling to the EU and the Schengen area
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs recommends exercising special caution when travelling to the EU and Schengen area The Ministry also recommends avoiding unnecessary travel to countries outside the EU and Schengen area, except for countries for which the restrictions on entry have been lifted.
