Minister Blomqvist attends meeting of Ministers for Nordic Cooperation

Minister for Nordic Cooperation Thomas Blomqvist will chair an extraordinary meeting of Ministers for Nordic Cooperation on 29 April 2021.

Finland holds the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2021. The extraordinary ministerial meeting on 29 April 2021 has been convened to decide on the strategic study on Nordic cooperation in times of crisis. The purpose of the study is to review the cooperation during the COVID-19 crisis and the lessons learnt for the future. The topics include health issues, the open labour market, the challenges faced by border regions as well as how to utilise the Council of Ministers in the cooperation.

Minister for Nordic Cooperation and Gender Equality Blomqvist will chair the video meeting, which is the second meeting of the Ministers for Cooperation during Finland’s Presidency. The meeting will discuss issues related to economic and project management and it will provide an update on the implementation of the vision for Nordic cooperation. The vision is that the Nordic region will be the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030.
