Embassy of Finland in Tokyo is outsourcing the submission of visa and residence permit applications
Finland is outsourcing the submission of visa and residence permit applications in Japan to an application centre maintained by VFS Global. Residence permit applications will be received at the application center starting 27th March and visa applications starting 15th April.
All applicants must visit the Application centre personally, to be identified, and to give biometric identifier information. All visa and residence permit applicants are served by appointment only.
Residence permit applications should be filled online at https://migri.fi/enter-finland(Link to another website.), but also paper applications are accepted at the Application centre. The Finnish Immigration Service continues to process all residence permit applications.
Visa application can be filled online at https://finlandvisa.fi/(Link to another website.). The embassy of Finland in Japan continues to process the visa applications.
The Embassy will take care of the already agreed residence permit appointments until 26th of March and visa appointments times until 9th of April.
In addition to the visa or residence permit application fee, the permit Centre charges the applicant a service fee of EUR 20 in or equivalent in Japanese yen.
A new website, as well as the call center for the application center, will be launched on 13th March.
