Embassy's twitter character Fintan's background gets disclosed in the 2nd anime episode

The second episode of the Fintan anime series, titled "Encounter under the cherry trees", becomes public in midst of the cherry blossom season in Japan, with an appearance of a new character named Yuki. The new anime reveals how and why Fintan came from Finland to Japan.

Fintan is the popular twitter character of the Embassy of Finland in Tokyo. The first anime came out at the end of February this year, and received much attention in the Japanese media.  The anime series is produced to commemorate the 100th year of Independence of Finland this year, and also to celebrate 100 years of diplomatic relations between Finland and Japan in 2019. There will be a 3rd anime clip coming later in the year, also made by Japanese animator Kenji Itoso.

The Finnish Embassy's twitter account has more than 130,000 followers, and was named the Best Embassy Twitter User of the Year in 2016 by the State of Digital Diplomacy. Please read below the Embassy's website article about the first Fintan anime launched this February.
