Embassy of Finland in Tokyo is looking for an experienced chef
The Embassy of Finland in Tokyo is looking for an experienced cook/chef to work at the Embassy and in the Ambassador´s residence for a fixed-term contract starting from January 1, 2023 until February 28, 2025. Embassy will provide housing on the Embassy compound.
Main tasks are:
- Overall responsibility for event and menu planning for different events from small breakfast, lunch and cocktail events to receptions for several hundred guests at the Embassy and in the Ambassador´s residence
- Sourcing, preparation and elegant presentation of food in different functions
- Cost accounting and upkeep of the kitchen and utensils
A successful candidate should have following characters:
- Appropriate training and relevant work experience
- Experience of cooking for receptions for several hundred guests
- Flexibility, professionalism, service-minded attitude, good communications skills, ability to work under pressure in quickly changing situations
- Knowledge of Finnish an/or Scandinavian gastronomy and language is considered an asset
- Ability to work in international work environment
