Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini visits Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory

Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini will visit Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory on 1–3 June 2016. The Foreign Minister will meet Israeli and Palestinian Authority leaders and discuss their bilateral relations with Finland, the peace process and regional situation in the Middle East and other topical matters.

Foreign Minister Soini will meet, among others, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanjahu as well as Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and Minister of Foreign Affairs Riad Al-Malki of the Palestinian Authority. The visit also marks the 20th anniversary of cooperation in the education sector between Finland and the Palestinian Authority. Finland has played a key role in the development of the quality of education and in increasing access to education in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
