Finns abroad - how to update your information for the Embassy

By registering yourself you will be notified or contacted by the Embassy in a crisis situation. It is also possible to give a permit for other newsletters about the events in the Embassy.

The EU law on general data protection and privacy (GDPR) was implemented on 25th of May 2018. Consequently, the previous databases of the Finns abroad were deactivated and deleted.

Despite of its name “Travel Notification”, it is possible to use it also for registering yourself as a permanent or temporary resident in Israel.

By registering yourself you will be notified or contacted by the Embassy in a crisis situation. It is also possible to give a permit for other newsletters about the events in the Embassy.

However, it is important to emphasize, that the travel notification is not an official notification of your contact details. Finnish citizens staying abroad have the legal obligation to report any changes to their personal data during their time abroad, including the birth of a child, marriage, divorce, and changes of name and address. If you live temporary or permanently abroad, fill out the travel notification as follows:


1. Travellers

  • Fill out your personal information. It is possible to add also your family members in the same notification. If you would like them to get their own personal notifications from the Embassy, add everyone’s email in the form.

 

2. Destination

  • Fill in your location and street address as requested. If you live in the country permanently, or you do not know the exact return date, you can leave the return date open.

3. Contact information

 

  • Fill in the contact information where the Embassy can try to reach you during possible crisis.
  • If you have moved abroad, or you are just about to move there, please tick “The country of destination is my official place of residence.” This will give you a possibility to give a “Permit”. If this box is ticked, the Embassy may use your personal data for sending other than crisis-related information.

4. Review and send

  •  Check, that the information give is correct and submit the application
