Minister Thomas Blomqvist to a meeting of Ministers for Nordic Cooperation

Minister for Nordic Cooperation Thomas Blomqvist will attend a meeting of Ministers for Nordic Cooperation in Edinburgh on 3 September 2019.

The ministers will discuss the priorities that will guide Nordic cooperation in the coming years. According to the new vision, adopted by the Nordic prime ministers, the objective is to make the Nordic region the most sustainable and integrated region in the world.

Additionally, the ministers will make decisions concerning, among other things, the Nordic Council of Ministers’ budget proposal for 2020 and closer cooperation in the implementation of EU acts. They will also discuss the cooperation between the Council of Ministers when it comes to contacts with their western neighbours (the UK, Ireland, the USA and Canada).

The meeting will also handle youth matters, and youth policy will be discussed with Scotland’s Minister for Children and Young People.
