In 2012 Finnish Outotec signed a contract with Iran´s Gole Gohar Mining and Industrial Company on building the second phase of the Iron Ore Pelletizing plant located in Sirjan County, in the province of Kerman. The project was finished within a record time of 43 months and on Monday November 14, 2016 the new plant was inaugurated.

Thanks to the new plant which has been designed to produce annually between 5-7 million tons of pellets, the domestic pellet-production capacity in Iran will reach a total of 29,5 million tons. This amount will be enough to meet Iran´s domestic demand.

Finnish Outotec Oyj, one of the leading companies in the world in the field of mineral industry, provides process solutions, technologies and services for the mining and metallurgical industries.

In the province of Kerman, the new Iron Ore Pelletizing Plant will provide work directly for 500 persons locally. Indirectly, the Plant will create up to 2000 new jobs.

Iran´s First Vice President Es´haq Jahangiri, Iran´s Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammed Reza Nematzadeh and Finland´s Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran Harri Kämäräinen participated at the inauguration ceremony.
