Finland and Iran signed five documents to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture

Mahmoud Hojjati, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Iran visited Finland on 12–13 September 2018 together with his delegation.

The official delegation comprised around ten persons and included two vice ministers and a member of parliament. Furthermore, Minister Hojjati was accompanied by a business delegation. The purpose of the visit was to develop the bilateral relations between the countries and to explore cooperation possibilities in the field of agriculture and forestry.

Finnish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Jari Leppä and the Iranian Minister Mahmoud Hojjati and their delegations signed five memorandums of understanding on 13 September in Helsinki concerning animal and plant health, education and research, and the water sector. Cooperation possibilities between Finland and Iran in the livestock sector and in the fields of agricultural engineering, forestry, and fish farming were discussed in a seminar which was held during the visit.
