Where to apply for a visa?

If your country of destination is Finland, apply for a visa from the nearest Finnish mission or the visa centre that the mission advises to you. Honorary consuls and consulates cannot grant visas.

It has been agreed with some countries that Finland may be represented by another Schengen state(layout.types.url.description) (Opens New Window). In such cases, apply for a visa to Finland from the mission of that Schengen state.

Submit your visa application at a mission or visa centre in person. An application cannot be sent by e-mail or telefax.

Where to apply for a visa in Ireland?

Schengen visas must be applied for in person at the final destination country’s embassy, consulate general or consulate in the country where the applicant lives or legally resides.

If the main destination is Finland, the visa must be applied for at Finland’s VSF Global Visa application center. An appointment for submitting the application can be made at visa.finland.eu/ireland(layout.types.url.description). If the trip is to cover several countries, the visa application must be submitted to the embassy/consulate of the Schengen country that is the trip’s main destination (based on the trip’s length or purpose). If the applicant does not have a clear main destination, the application should be submitted at the embassy/consulate of the first destination country.

In Ireland, visa applications can be submitted at VFS Global Visa Application Centre in Dublin.
