The European Union and its Member States are organising together another series of information seminars throughout India to raise awareness among Indian research stakeholders about the opportunities that they can offer for research and innovation cooperation, including mobility schemes for Indian students and researchers and partner search tools.

Launch of the Coffee Table Book "Finland First - Impressions Glimpses and Other Observations" and Helsinki World Design Capital 2012 Showcase
Ms. Terhi Hakala, Ambassador of Finland, launched the Coffee Table Book "Finland First - Impressions Glimpses and Other Observations" on Wednesday 27 June 2012. The book was created in cooperation with Finnish and Indian people. As the name of the book implies, it describes Finland and the Finnish way of life – but the story is told through Indian eyes.

Agreement on Social Security between Finland and India signed
The Agreement on Social Security between Finland and India was signed in New Delhi on 12 June 2012. On behalf of Finland, the Agreement was signed by Ms. Terhi Hakala, Ambassador of Finland in India, and on behalf of India, it was signed by Mr. Atul Kumar Tiwari, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs of India.

Students may now apply for a residence permit for Finland online
A student granted a place of study in a Finnish educational institute may now submit an application for a residence permit electronically online. During January, the Finnish Immigration Service will open an e-service which enables customers to submit an application and to follow the progress of its processing.

The 4th International Dry Toilet Conference in Finland in August 2012 – Second Announcement and Call for Papers
The 4th International Dry Toilet Conference will be organized in Tampere, Finland 22-25 August 2012. Since 2003, the City of Tampere has hosted the DT Conference organized by the Global Dry Toilet Association of Finland, a non-governmental organization promoting the use of dry toilets throughout the world. In 2012 the main theme of the conference is Drivers for ecological dry toilets in urban and rural areas.
