The Embassy of Finland in New Delhi is looking for a locally employed Press and Communications Officer to further boost the Indo-Finnish relations and make Finland known in India. The vacancy is for a period of one year, with a possibility for continuation, depending on the performance of the candidate.

Press and Communications Officer will, in cooperation with and under supervision of the diplomatic staff, be responsible for:

. Designing and executing communication and country branding activities and campaigns, ranging from event management to social media campaigns

. Producing communication materials incl. articles, newsletters, speeches, videos and social media posts

. Finding background material from media for the political team

. Liaising with Indian media and handling press relations

. Assists with delegations from Finland with media and practicalities

. To promote Finland as a study, research and work destination

. Responding to inquiries and material requests

. Support for educational and scientific cooperation

. Participating in Team Finland work

. Photography, videography and graphic design for the mission

. Other tasks assigned by the head of mission

. The areas of responsibility for the position may be adjusted according to the Embassy’s needs

What we expect from you:

. Academic degree in communications, media, PR or related field

. About 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of international communications and media, including project and event management

. Proven track record of independently designing and executing communication activities and campaigns

. Understanding of Indian media field and previous experience in liaising with media representatives of different media outlets

. Top-notch digital skills and experience of different social media platforms; experience with video, vlogs and bloggers in an asset

. Own initiative and innovativeness

. Ability to deliver quality results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

. Team working skills and ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders in India and in Finland

. Fluency in English and Hindi both written and spoken, with clear and on-point communication and an eye for detail

. Interest towards and perhaps previous substance experience in themes such as sustainability, equality, education and innovation

. Knowledge of the Nordic countries, and particularly of Finland, is considered an advantage

Terms and conditions:

. The Embassy follows Indian labor laws with respect to employment rights

. Working days; Monday-Friday, according to the Embassy’s office hours

 There will be a probation period of 90 days.
