The Embassy of Finland in New Delhi has one vacancy for full time fixed term position as Visa officer.

 

The vacant position is available for starting date from 1st of March 2020 to 28th of February 2022.

 

The Finnish Embassy in New Delhi is the diplomatic representation of the Government of Finland  in India and Bangladesh located in Chanakyapuri. The Embassy processes visa and residence permit cases from India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

 

We are particularly looking for speakers of Hindi and Bengali but other languages are also a plus.

 

Job description:

  • Handling enquiries regarding visas and residence permits
  • Checking applications and documentation
  • Interviewing applicants
  • Filing and archiving of visa applications
  • Other tasks as needed

 

Job requirements:

 

  • Graduate degree, commercial diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in an administrative environment
  • Good computer knowledge (particularly Word and Excel), including typing speed
  • Solid knowledge of oral and written English and Hindi, other regional languages an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely
  • Previous experience in a related field is an advantage
  • If not Indian national, eligible to work in India (the Embassy does not assist with an Indian work permit)

Terms and conditions:

 

We offer fix term positions with a 3 months’ probation period

 

The work week is 37 hours and 15 minutes.

Irregular working hours with paid overtime may occur, particularly during the peak season from April to August, when there are limited possibilities to take vacation

 

The Embassy follows Indian law with respect to employment rights.
