Finland Pavilion Awarded for Best Pavilion Design in Shanghai World EXPO 2010
The best pavilions of Shanghai World EXPO 2010 were awarded on Saturday October 30th by BIE (Bureau International des Expositions) in Shanghai. Finland pavilion received a Golden Statue for the best Pavilion Design in category B. Nordic countries celebrated in this category, as Norway came in second and Denmark third.

Finnish Ambassador Met with Dr. Vesna Pusic, Chairperson of the National Committee
In an official visit to Croatian Parliament, Ambassador of Finland, Juha Ottman met with Dr. Vesna Pusic, Chairperson of the National Committee for Monitoring the EU Accession Negotiations on October 20, 2010. In addition to a discussion about the current stage of Croatia’s negotiations with the EU, Pusic presented the progress Croatia has made in Chapter 23 “Judiciary and Fundamental Rights”.

Croatia’s Accession to the EU - New Impetus for Doing Business between Croatia and Finland

Strong support from Finland for Croatia’s EU membership
Foreign Minister Jandrokovic thanked Finland for the support Croatia has received in accession negotiations with the EU and said that Croatia strives to bring the negotiations to conclusion during the coming year, in which case Croatia could accede to membership of the EU in 2012. Croatia’s goal is to meet the criteria required for EU membership as soon as possible.
