Ahtisaari Days focused on mediation in everyday life and the world’s conflicts
The national Ahtisaari Days were held this year for the third time. The events took place on Thursday, 7 November. The programme involved many activities especially in the town of Kuopio, the main site this year. The Ahtisaari Days for 2013 included an analysis of the current state of the world, campaigns organized by schoolchildren as well as highlighting the role of mediators in everyday life.

Finnish architect Juhani Pallasmaa visited Zagreb
Finnish architect Juhani Pallasmaa gave a lecture on October 20, 2013 in Zagreb. His visit was part of the Oris Days – one of the largest architecture events in the world - which gathered nearly 2000 architecture enthuasists to the Lisinski Concert Hall.

Applications now accepted for the free Millennium Youth Camp
Talented high school students from all over the world will once again come together in Finland when the fifth Millennium Youth Camp kicks off in June 2014. During the week-long camp, young people aged 16–19 who share an interest in science, mathematics and technology will conduct scientific sustainability projects under expert guidance, while also learning about Finnish innovations and research carried out by businesses and universities.

The Ahtisaari Day conflict resolution role play is about peace negotiations in Kurkum
Once more, the Ahtisaari Days will be celebrated in November. In schools, the goal is to increase awareness about conflict prevention and mediation both at the international level and within the school community.
