The new government takes office

On Friday 29th May, the President of the Republic appointed Finland´s 74th Government at a presidential session. At the same time, the President of Republic released the ministers of Alexander Stubb´s Government from their duties.

The Government headed by Prime Minister Juha Sipilä (the Center Party) consists of 14 ministers. The duties are shared by three biggest parties of Finland´s parliament: The Center Party, The Finns Party and The National Coalition. The new Minister of Foreign affairs is the leader of Finns Party Timo Soini and the Minister of Finance is the leader of National Coalition (ex-Prime Minister) Alexander Stubb. The Center Party has six ministerial posts. The Finns Party and the National Coalition Party have four ministerial posts each.
