The Idle Ones is an off-beat film telling a story of three unemployed young men from the northeastern part of Finland, close to the Russian border - an area left out of Europe’s economic expansions and globalization. The three idle younsters portrayed in the film - Lötkö, Hapa and Bodi - hang around drinking beer, playing videogames and driving around their cars. Yet, that is not all they want. They would like to get a job, but there is a very little chance of finding one. In the words of the film, "they are living for tomorrow, but it never comes." The Idle Ones is a warm, funny and gripping film about the lives of three young men on the threshold of adulthood.
