"One Hundred Years of Finnish Democracy" exhibition in Zagreb

"The Right to Vote – Trust in Law. One Hundred Years of Finnish Democracy" travelling exhibition will be shown in the National and University Library 13–28 July.

The parliamentary reform of 1906 laid down the foundation of Finnish democracy and civic society. The centenary exhibition of the Finnish Parliament consists of 14 picture panels that tell of the first steps of democracy during the time when Finland was part of Sweden and Russia, but also of the results of a hundred years of lawmaking, which transformed independent Finland into a modern, Scandinavian welfare society. As the reform of the Finnish Parliament 100 years ago was radically modern, the Parliament wants to celebrate this historic event also abroad. Thus the centenary exhibition will be shown in more than 40 countries around the world.
