The Embassy of Finland has moved

The Embassy of Finland has moved. The new address is Hatziyianni Mexi 5, 6th floor, Ilisia, near Hilton hotel.

The Embassy represents the Government of Finland and, therefore, also the Finnish people in Greece. Embassy's duties are diverse and they are affected by the conditions both in Finland and in Greece.

One of the most important task of the Embassy is to create better and broader relations between Finland and Greece. Our countries are collaborating continuously and intensively through EU and Embassy is actively following Greece's EU politics. Embassy also works actively to increase possibilities for co-operation between Finland and Greece, particularly in the issues that are important to Finland. The Embassy also monitors closely Greece's domestic developments and informs Finnish authorities and other stakeholders on the events that has importance to Finland.

The bilateral co-operation between our countries is continuously increasing. The Embassy is in constant contact with Finnish companies and business organisations on the opportunities in the Greek market. This way Embassy aims to contribute to the increase of the trade between our countries. Greater trade and increasing international economical collaboration, in turn, create new jobs in Finland and Embassy is actively supporting this development.

The Embassy works in various ways to strengthen the overall knowledge on Finland in Greece. Finland's internationally recognized achievements in teaching, research, industry -especially within IT -sector, our country's strong competition capability, successful battle against corruption and our clean environment are assets that Embassy uses when promoting Finland. Furthermore, internationally known Finns in culture, especially in music, and also our well-known athletes form an important resource when increasing awareness on Finland. In is our belief that interest towards Finland and enlarging collaboration between our countries support positive development at home as well as at international levels.

Most Finns are aware of Embassy's tasks concerning passport and visa issues as well as assistance for citizens who are in need of help. Also Honorary Consuls in Corfu, Kos, Rhodes and Crete islands as well as in the cities of Piraeus, Patras and Thessalonica serve citizens in these issues. Services for Third Country nationals travelling to Finland are based on the Schengen principles

The Embassy of Finland in Athens is a part of Government's administration and it aims to offer as good services as possible within its resources. Good co-operation with Finnish who live in Greece, their organizations and schools, Finnish- Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Finnish companies as well as the Scandinavian Church and Finnish parish are valuable resources in completing Embassy's missions.
