Finnish Paralympic team in the Embassy

Members of the Finnish Paralympic Committee and athletes

visited the Embassy on Sunday 19th September in reception organised to honour the Finnish Paralympic team. In this warm occasion Greek schoolchildren danced Greek folklore dances. Pleasant surprise was when Lauri Melanen, member of the Finnish Paralympic team, took his guitar and played music.

Ambassador Ole Norrback gave a speech and so did mr. Timo Haukilahti, member of the Ministry of Education and mr. Arto Pehkonen, Chairman of the Finnish Paralympic Committee.

The first Finnish paralympic winner Jani Kallunki took also part in the reception. In first competition day he won bronze medal in judo agains Chinas´Ching Cheng Lee.
