Celebrating the 150th Anniversary
of Sibelius' Birth

Sibelius is recognized as one of the most remarkable symphonists of the 20th century and a reformer of the symphonic form and genre.

Megaron - The Athens Concert Hall in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland celebrates the 150th Anniversary of Sibelius´ birth with a concert and a lecture on 3rd December at 8.30 pm.

Lecture: “Sibelius and Greece”

In collaboration with the Music Library of Greece “Lilian Voudouri” of the Friends of Music Society

A discussion between Eero Tarasti and Greek musicologists and musicians, about the influence of Sibelius on Greek composers. In the discussion are participating among others, Byron Fidetzis, conductor, and Professor Dimitris Yiannou.
