International Singing Competition Every Five Years Brings Young Talents to Finland

The Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition will be arranged on 20–29 May 2019. There is still time to apply!

The Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition is well known for its high standard and broad and demanding repertoire. Young singers can participate without any fees. The competition will be held in Helsinki Music Centre next May and the winning prizes can be quite tempting for the young talents. Women born in 1989 or later and men born in 1987 or later can participate.

The Finnish Broadcasting Company (Yle(Link to another website.) (Opens New Window)) will show the competition live-streamed on TV and broadcast it also on radio. The competitioners who reach the finals, will have the chance to sing with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Hannu Lintu.

The jury consists of the chairman Jorma Silvasti, Olaf Bär, Ben Heppner, Vesselina Kasarova, François Le Roux, Waltraud Meier, Deborah Polaski and Kiri Te Kanawa. The application time ends 14th of December at its latest!
