Heureka introduces science and technology in an engaging and interactive way. Visitors can experience the joy of discovery through spectacular exhibitions, planetarium films and events. The activities are both indoor and outdoor.

In 2013 Heureka had altogether 409.403 visitors. The visitor figures have only once exceeded that number, in the opening year of 1989, when the brand new science centre attracted 431.244 visitors in a bit more than eight months. Since its opening in 1989, Heureka’s exhibitions have been seen at Heureka by altogether more than 7.1 million visitors.

The year 2013 was also very successful for the planetarium. The number of visitors was the highest it has ever been in the entire history of the planetarium. A total of 171,495 visitors watched a planetarium film during their visit to Heureka.

Each year, during the school summer holiday, Heureka organises fun science camps that are  continuously growing in popularity. During the week-long, multidisciplinary day camps, children and youth (7–15years) are introduced to phenomenon-based learning through the experimental approach, independent working and the joy of discovery.

At the moment Heureka Goes Crazy

On 12 October 2013, Heureka launched the world’s first interactive science centre exhibition on mental health, entitled Heureka Goes Crazy.  The aim of the exhibition is to dispel prejudices related to mental health disorders and to encourage people to take care of their own mental well-being. This exhibition was Heureka’s contribution to public discourse on mental health, an issue that is important both on an individual and national level.
