WorldSkills 2005 in Finland

In the WorldSkills Competition, organised every second year, young people under 23 years of age from all over the world compete in the skills of their vocational fields.

There are 34 official competition skills and about five demonstration skills. The skills represent the fields of technology, industry, and services. About 800 competitors from nearly 40 countries participate in the competition.

Finland's largest ever educational competition, the main event of the National Year of Vocational Training and Young Professionals will take place in the Helsinki Fair Centre May 25 - June 1.

For every young participant, the WorldSkills Competition is an invaluable and unique learning experience. Many competitors go on to act as ambassadors for their respective skills, promoting excellence in vocational education and training in their own countries.
