On Friday 24 April, the President of the Republic accepted the association agreements concluded between the EU and its Member States and Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia. The agreements deepen the countries' political and economic cooperation with the EU and its Member States. -

Foreign Minister Tuomioja will attend the Informal Meeting of European Union Foreign Ministers in Milan and will visit Iran and Georgia
Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja will attend the Informal Meeting of European Union Foreign Ministers, the so-called Gymnich Meeting, in Milan on 29 and 30 August. The Middle East peace process and the situation in Gaza will be discussed at the two-day meeting. The Ministers will also discuss the Eastern Neighbourhood, focusing on the situation in Ukraine. Also on the agenda are the EU’s Southern Neighbourhood and in particular the situation in Iraq, Syria and Libya.
