Finland's Permanent Representant

Ambassador Terhi Hakala is Finland's Permanent Representant for international organisations in Geneva.

Terhi Hakala is the Ambassador of the Permanent Mission of Finland in Geneva. Prior to the current assignment she has held various positions in the diplomatic service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland since 1988. 

Her latest positions include Director General of Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia (2012-2016) and Ambassador of Finland to India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Nepal (2009-2012).

She was also Ambassador and Head of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Georgia, Tbilisi (2007-2009) and Roving Ambassador of Finland to Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia (2004-2007).

Ambassador Hakala’s academic background is Master of Arts from Åbo Akademi.
