UN Committee against Torture issues recommendations to Finland
The United Nations Committee against Torture examined the eighth periodic report submitted by Finland under the Convention against Torture. A public oral hearing of the Finnish delegation was held in connection with the examination. The Committee issued its concluding observations and recommendations in Geneva on 10 May.

Advance voting in Geneva in June’s European elections
The voting day for the European elections in Finland is Sunday 9 June 2024. Abroad, advance voting will be conducted between 29 May and 1 June 2024, but many of the advance polling stations abroad are open for a shorter period than this. In Switzerland it is possible to vote in Bern, Geneva and Zurich.

Finland leads UN Human Rights Council intervention in discrimination and violence against intersex persons
The UN Human Rights Council adopted the resolution Combating Discrimination, Violence, and Harmful Practices against Intersex Persons on 4 April. The resolution was presented by Finland together with Australia, Chile and South Africa. Several states across the world also supported the resolution.

Foreign Ministry invites tenders for services for submitting entry permit applications
