Missions of Finland and Estonia in WTO Public Forum: Panel discussion about Digital trade and Cyber Security

As a part of WTO Public Forum the Permanent Missions of Finland and Estonia welcome You to a panel discussion: Digital Trade and Cyber Security: Catalysts for Development? The session will be held on Thursday 4 October from 8.30 to 10 AM at Centre William Rappard, Room W.

As the whole world, also trade is greatly affected by digitalization and the possibilities and challenges new technologies raise. With practical examples, the participants will gain understanding about the questions everyone should be asking to keep up with fast-paced digitalization. High-ranking panelists with deep and diverse expertise in security, defense and business will discuss the core concepts of digital trade, cyber security and their impact to development.

Panelists:

Mr. Jarno Limnéll is Professor of Cybersecurity at Aalto University in Finland with over 20 years of experience with security issues, and has a profound understanding of the global threat landscape, combined with the courage to address the most complex issues.

Ms. Eneken Tikk is co-founder of Cyber Policy Institute (CPI), senior adviser to the board of the ICT for Peace Foundation in Geneva and the first female member of the board of the Estonian Defence League’s Cyber Defence Unit.

Mr. Karol Mattila is Head of Government Relations at Nokia with over fifteen years of experience in the Telecommunications sector. Mattila is specialized in the regulation on information society.

Mr. Rauk Rikk is founder of the National Cyber Security Index and Director of National Cyber Security Programme at the e-Governance Academy. Rikk is engaged in strategic cyber security development in many countries and international programmes.

Along with the panelists great experience is provided by the moderator of the panel, Mr. Derek O’Halloran from World Economic Forum: O’Halloran has worked within the IT industry in a number of business roles serving both private and public sector clients.
