The project includes peacekeepers, police, and civilians, from Egypt and other countries engaged in peacekeeping.

The goal of the training is to increase gender awareness and promote the empowerment of women in peacekeeping, and to promote implementation of UN Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security. This is an institutional capacity building project, since Egypt has so far relied on outside experts to provide gender equality education.

CMC, which comes under the Ministry of the Interior of Finland, began cooperation with CCCPA in this area in 2010. The 3 year project has a total budget of 794 423 euros and Finland is the only donor.
