Perry Le Dain and Meria Heikelä from Business Finland UK awarded Finnish decorations for their services for Finland
Perry Le Dain and Meria Heikelä from Business Finland UK have been awarded Knights of the Order of the White Rose of Finland for their services for Finland. Le Dain received his decoration in 2019 and Heikelä in 2020, but due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the official presentation of the decorations was delayed. Ambassador Markku Keinänen presented the decorations for both of them at the Ambassador's residence in May.

Portable passport unit in Edinburgh 2.-4.6.2021 and Manchester 18.–19.6.2021
The Embassy of Finland will process passport and ID card applications in Edinburgh between Wednesday 2 June and Friday 4 June 2021 and in Manchester between Friday 18 June and Saturday 19 June. Appointments must be made in advance.

Advance voting in Great Britain in Finland's municipal elections in 2021
The municipal elections will be held on Sunday 13 June 2021. The Act on the Postponement of the 2021 Municipal Elections entered into force on 29 March 2021. The advance voting period will be from 26 May to 8 June in Finland and from 2 to 5 June abroad.

Seyi Akiwowo is the UK recipient of HÄN honour in 2021
Finland is championing the gender-neutral Finnish pronoun “hän” to promote equality around the world and to support and showcase the work done for equality. Finland is presenting Hän Honours to individuals and organisations that are advancing inclusivity. This year’s recipient of the honour in the UK is Seyi Akiwowo, founder and CEO of Glitch for her work on battling online harassment.

Rules and guidance in different countries can change rapidly, which is why the Ministry for Foreign Affairs advises people travelling on business to always check the official website of the country of destination, to consider whether the trip is essential, and to act responsibly.

Finnish baby box has inspired over 60 countries – The Finnish Embassy and Finnish institute invited specialists from Wales, Scotland and Finland to share experience on social innovations
For the past 80 years, all Finnish parents have been provided a box by the state. It is a starter kit with necessities ranging from clothes to toys to help care for their newborn. Today Finland has one of the lowest infant mortality rates in the world, in part thanks to this maternity package.
