Minister Skinnari to visit London to discuss trade policy and sustainable development solutions

Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari will visit London on 24 November. Minister Skinnari will meet the United Kingdom’s Minister of State at the Department for International Trade Greg Hands and Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Andrew Mitchell.

“The United Kingdom is a close and likeminded partner for Finland. Our cooperation and dialogue are especially important in the current state of the world. We are seeking solutions together,” says Minister Skinnari.

Minister Skinnari and Minister of State Hands will discuss promotion of bilateral trade between Finland and the UK, opportunities of the green transition and topical trade policy matters, among other topics.

Finland and the UK are working closely together in matters of climate adaptation and climate finance. The two countries are members of the Champions Group on Adaptation Finance that held its first ministerial meeting in Lahti in April 2022 following the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow. Minister Skinnari and Minister of State Mitchell will discuss the effectiveness and restructuring of development finance and the international School Meals Coalition, which is co-chaired by Finland and France.
