Finnish decorations awarded by Ambassador Siukosaari
Juha-Matti Lampola from the FBCC and Terhi Bunders, Riitta Kärkinen, Outi Mäkilä and Jaana Palmer from the Embassy of Finland have been awarded decorations for their services for Finland. Lampola and Bunders received Knights First Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland. Kärkinen, Mäkilä and Palmer were awarded Medals First Class of the Order of the White Rose of Finland. Ambassador Jukka Siukosaari presented the decorations in a small ceremony at the Ambassador’s residence in June 2022.
Juha-Matti Lampola is the Chairman of the Finnish-British Chamber of Commerce. Over the course of his decades-long international career in banking, Lampola has made significant contributions to the development of Finnish businesses. Lampola founded J-M Capital Ltd. in 2000, through which he has given advice to numerous Finnish businesses on internationalization as well as facilitated the interest of foreign companies in Finland. At the FBCC, Lampola has been a driving force for nearly a decade and significantly contributed to the Chamber’s growth.
Terhi Bunders is a Finnish diplomat currently serving at the Embassy of Finland in London as a Counsellor on economic affairs and climate and as Team Finland Coordinator. Bunders has worked in the Foreign Service for the benefit of Finnish people and businesses for 20 years.
Kärkinen, Mäkilä and Palmer were awarded for their long dedication and numerous contributions to the work of the Embassy of Finland in London. With 20 years of experience working for the interest of Finnish people and Finland, Kärkinen, Mäkilä and Palmer continue to provide exemplary service to citizens and customers at the Embassy every day.
The decorations of the Orders of the White Rose of Finland and the Lion of Finland are conferred upon citizens who have distinguished themselves in the service of Finland. Foreign nationals may also be awarded decorations.
