European Elections 2019 – 1060 voters at the advance voting in Britain

Advance voting for the European elections of 2019 in Finland was organized in Britain from 15th to 18th of May. There were in total 1060 voters, of which 705 voted at the Finnish Embassy in London.

There were nine polling stations open around the UK. The polling station at the Embassy in London was open from Wednesday to Saturday, when the other eight polling stations were only open on Saturday, 18th May.

In total there were 1060 voters at the advance voting, of which 705 voted at the Embassy in London. Even during the peak hours, the voting went smoothly. Many thanks to all the voters and staff at the polling stations!

Compared to the last European Parliament Elections, more people voted in advance in the UK. In 2015 there were 687 voters at the advance voting, of which 467 voted at the Embassy in London.

The European Parliament Elections are held every fifth year. In Finland the Election Day will be 26 May 2019.

In the European elections, people entitled to vote may only vote in one EU member state: their home country or the country of residence.
